The roommate of an Upper East Side man who was found dead on Thursday along with a bloodstained dog has been charged in connection with his death.
Investigators found the victim's body in Apartment 13 of 344 East 62nd Street in Lenox Hill on Thursday afternoon.
Police say the suspect, identified as Shaun Dyer, 46, has been charged with murder in the second degree.
Sources said the two men were in the process of being evicted from the apartment.
Police say a dog that was in the apartment at the time had blood on its coat, but that the animal didn't appear to have anything to do with the man's death.
Nevertheless, neighbors said they had dangerous run-ins with the dog in the past.
The dog, which is named Bones, is now in the custody of Animal Care and Control.
