Family and friends will gather in Manhattan Thursday to say goodbye to a soldier who died on Monday in Afghanistan.

The funeral for U.S. Army Private Danny Chen will be held at the Wah Wing Sang Funeral Corporation on Mulberry Street.

The funeral was originally set for Sunday, but Chen's body is not back in the city yet.

Chen was an infantryman out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

The 19-year-old enlisted in the Army in January and grew up in Chinatown.

He went to school on the Lower East Side.

The Army has not said how Chen died, but officials say the incident is under investigation.

On Friday, Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered all flags on all state buildings be lowered to half-staff after the Chen family was notified.
