Police were searching Sunday for a man accused of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman after climbed through the window of her Upper East Side apartment early Saturday.

Investigators say the man came in through the first floor window of the woman's apartment around 5:15 a.m. Saturday.

He then proceeded to sexually assault her before fleeing the scene.

The woman was taken to Cornell Hospital.

Police used a special ultra-violet light to locate the rapist's fingerprints or hairs on the victim's shades and reviewed surveillance video in the area.

By Sunday evening, no arrests had been made.

Police say the suspect is described as being roughly 5-feet-7-inches tall and was last seen wearing a white shirt, black jeans and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
