City officials say 823 couples entered the city's lottery to exchange vows on Sunday, and all these couples can be accommodated somewhere in the five boroughs as the new Marriage Equality Act goes into effect.

The lottery for what was originally only 764 spots closed at noon Thursday.

City officials said the most requests came in for Manhattan, with 533 couples asking for 400 slots.

All other couples who asked for the four boroughs' offices were guaranteed Sunday spots.

In response, the Manhattan City Clerk's office is increasing its total number of Sunday spots to 459, and sources say the remaining 74 couples who wanted a spot in Manhattan will be offered a spot in the other four borough offices.

Couples awarded a Sunday wedding time should arrive at the clerk's office between 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. to be given access.

Officials tell couples who did not enter the lottery to not go to the offices on Sunday, but to rather try later in the week.

The city set up the lottery knowing that it could not process everyone who indicated a desire to get a marriage license on the historic day.
