Tonight's Yankees game has been postponed to the fall, but shortstop Derek Jeter will have his chance to reach historic hit number 3,000 at tomorrow's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Yankees tried to play a doubleheader tomorrow, but the Rays declined.
Jeter is a mere two hits away from becoming the first Bronx Bomber and 28th Major League Baseball player to reach 3,000 hits.
The next scheduled game is Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
If Jeter does not get two hits this weekend, he will have to wait until after the all-star break when the Yankees visit Toronto.
