A Manhattan man is awaiting arraignment after turning himself in to authorities Sunday, hours after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death in their Lower East Side apartment.
Raul Barrera, 33, was charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Sarah Coit, 23, at 63 Clinton Street.
Police found Coit lying on her living room floor with several stab wounds shortly after 2:30 a.m.
She was brought to Beth Israel Hospital, where she was declared dead.
Investigators said the two got into a fight, but as of Sunday evening it was not known what the fight was about.
