Passenger Files First Lawsuit In Bronx Bus Crash

One of the passengers injured in a deadly tour bus crash in the Bronx is taking legal action.
Attorneys for Yuke Chue Lo, 74, say she filed a summons and complaint claiming negligence, recklessness and shoddy business practices against driver Ophadell Williams and the bus' operator, World Wide Travel, earlier today.
It's the first lawsuit to be filed in the wake of the crash.
Lo suffered a fractured skull and traumatic brain injury in the crash, but has since been
discharged from St. Barnabas Hospital.
Court papers say the bus company failed to hire a competent driver.
The suit also alleges Williams was reckless by getting behind the wheel while sleep deprived.
The claim seeks $20 million in compensatory and punitive damages.
Fifteen people were killed when the bus overturned and slammed into a pole on the New England Thruway in the Bronx.
It was traveling from the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut to Chinatown.
Both Williams and the tour bus company refused to comment.
