Some business owners on Coney Island are getting ready for another summer season after narrowly dodging an eviction.

After a long court battle, seven of eight businesses reached a deal this week to extend their leases.

Coney Island staples like Ruby's Bar and Grill, Paul's Daughter, and Cha Cha's will be open for another summer.

The old leases expired last November and the new ones will expire this coming November.

One owner said he's relieved, but hoping to extend the lease again next year.

"We're small, independent business people. It's been like that for over 100 years and that's how we are now. And we want to keep that spirit alive by keeping the small shops open and that's what we hope to accomplish," said Michael Sarrel of Ruby's Bar and Grill.

The only one of the eight businesses that won't be back is "Shoot the Freak."

It was demolished to make way for an entrance to new amusement park known as the Scream Zone.
