NY1 has learned a deal is in the works to keep the Coney Island boardwalk businesses that have been fighting their ouster open for one more season.

Sources say a settlement between the boardwalk's new landlord, Zamperla, and the eight tenants will give the businesses -- whose leases expired in November -- a one-year lease extension.

The potential deal also allows Zamperla more time to plan for boardwalk improvements.

With the two sides locked in a legal battle, there was a possibility the boardwalk would be dark this season.

Coney Island's traditional opening day is Palm Sunday, which this year falls on April 17th.

The two sides are due back in court Wednesday.
