Turkish Design Gets New Yorkers' Pick For "Taxi Of Tomorrow"

New Yorkers picked Turkish car manufacturer Karsan's V1 as the “Taxi of Tomorrow.”
In a survey by the Taxi and Limousine Commission, the design beat out ones submitted by Ford and Nissan.
The survey found 66 percent of respondents either liked or loved the look of the Karsan model.
The hybrid V1 has several distinct features -- including a panoramic, high-glass ceiling and wheelchair ramps on both sides.
The city is expected to choose its favorite sometime this year.
The model that is selected will be the city's yellow cab for the next 10 years.
