For Brooklynites, the past few days have been a tough go as they continue to dig out from the blizzard.

While many streets remain unplowed, there are some cleared streets. But that's not making it any easier for residents who've had their car buried under mounds of snow by the plows.

"It's completely buried. I'm surprised this place wasn't plowed until a few hours ago," said Brooklyn Heights resident Marty Fard.

Borough president Marty Markowitz says there is a lot of anger in Brooklyn and that it's justified. He says he wonders if the Department of Sanitation was prepared and acted quickly enough.

"It is unbelievable. From Bedford-Stuyvesant to Clinton Hill to Crown Heights, down to Manhattan Beach where not a street has been touched. And some of the major avenues in our communities across the borough, it is unbelievable that they still have not been plowed," said Markowitz.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says snow is supposed to be removed from busier roads first. Still, many have a problem with his handling of the storm.

"They didn't make people stay home from city offices, which I think was a mistake. A lot of people got stranded and the streets, really the emergency vehicles that's what I'm thinking, ya know, can't get through," said one Brooklyn Heights resident.

"I think this is unbelievable. I haven't seen this since I was a kid," said another.

The city is offering $12 an hour and up for anyone willing to come out and help shovel the snow mounds.
