It's the beginning of the end of jobless benefits for millions of Americans.
Benefits for nearly two-million Americans will start to run out today.
And, unless Congress changes its mind, benefits that had been extended up to 99 weeks will end this month.
A bill that would have extended them through the end of February failed to pass the House last month.
Congressional Republicans and some Democrats say they're open to extending benefits, but not if it means adding to the national debt.
The Federal Reserve says it expects the unemployment rate to hover around nine percent for all of next year.
