Supporters of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act plan to gather in the nation's capital Tuesday to push for a Senate vote.

The bill would take care of those who worked at the World Trade Center site after the terror attacks.

At stake is more than $7 billion in aid for rescue workers and first responders who have gotten sick as a result of their exposure to toxic dust after the towers fell.

Lawmakers who support the bill are looking for Republican support saying it is not a matter of politics.

The measure has already passed in the House.

The bill is named for New York City Police Department Detective James Zadroga, who died of respiratory illness after working for months at the World Trade Center site.
