The Consumer Product Safety Commission and three children's safety organizations are working together to help parents keep infants safe in their crib.

The groups jointly released a video that teaches parents how to avoid crib hazards, what type of cribs and bedding are appropriate, and the safest way to put a child to sleep to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Officials hope hospitals and pediatricians will show the video to parents, who they say are often not taught about the potential dangers of cribs.
