The medical examiner ruled Saturday that the teenaged daughter of the United States ambassador to Thailand accidentally fell to her death from a Manhattan apartment window on Friday.

Nicole John, 17, was determined to have died from blunt forced trauma early Friday after she fell from a 25th-story window near Herald Square.

Witnesses told police they saw Nicole take off her shoes and head out onto the ledge.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Nicole's body was found on the third-floor ledge of the luxury apartment building. He also said investigators believe Nicole may have been intoxicated, and that a camera was found next to the body.

No alcohol was found at the apartment where Nicole was last seen, but police believe she attended the Meatpacking District nightclub Tenjune and left for the apartment around 2 a.m. Friday.

Investigators said the girl had a fake Brazilian I.D. card that said she was 23 or 24 years old.

"The apartment was cleaned up when police arrived, no alcohol, no indication of a party going on,” said Kelly. “Some effort was made to clean up this site."

Ilan Nassimi, 25, who rents the apartment, pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned Friday on charges of serving alcohol to a minor.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Eric John, the teen's father, has served as U.S. ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand since 2007.
