The search is on for the gunman who shot and killed a man execution-style Saturday in Queens.
Police say they responded to reports of shots fired just before 5 a.m. on the corner of 28th Street and Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria.
Upon their arrival, they found John Giampetruzzi, 41, of Glen Cove, shot five times in the head.
He died at the scene.
Neighbors say it's the third murder in their area in three weeks.
"I'm really shocked and surprised because one of the things we really cherish about this neighborhood is that it's such a warm friendly, safe neighborhood, I never ever feel uncomfortable walking around late at night," said one neighborhood resident.
"I've lived here until I was 25 years old I would say, it's always a quiet neighborhood, we've never had any incidents, never had no problems," said another.
According to the New York Times, police don't believe the victim was robbed and are trying to determine whether the shooting was drug-related.
