North General Hospital No Longer Accepting Ambulances
Ambulances are no longer taking patients to North General Hospital in Harlem, days after it filed for bankruptcy.
As of 8 a.m., the hospital is no longer accepting ambulances.
However, the emergency room is still open. Patients are being treated and released.
All inpatients will either be discharged or transferred by July 12th.
The Institute for Family Health has opened a new community health center in part of the building. That facility is currently open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – with plans to extend those hours.
