Firefighters were still battling on Saturday a suspicious warehouse fire in Bushwick, Brooklyn that lasted since Thursday evening and injured two firemen.

The fire started around 6 p.m. Thursday at a cabinet warehouse on Evergreen Avenue in Bushwick.

"Part of the building is collapsed. It's still very deep-seated, fires burning throughout,” said FDNY Deputy Chief Patrick Clifford. “It's a very difficult, stubborn fire at this time."

Four nearby houses were evacuated but residents were eventually allowed to return home.

"Really afraid,” said one local resident. “We have the house, we thought the fire was behind the house. I was very, very afraid to sleep."

The fire was labeled suspicious.

One firefighter was hospitalized with serious injuries and another received minor injuries.
