The son of a Brooklyn woman who was shot in the head Wednesday night has been taken into custody.
Ishmel Rogucki, 17, is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Police are still investigating the shooting at the O'Dwyer Gardens Houses.
Family members say it all began when a group of men got into an argument with Victoria Rogucki's two teenage sons over their 16-year-old sister. Shots rang out, but it is not clear if bullets from Rogucki's gun hit his mother.
The 36-year-old was hit twice in the head.
She remains in critical condition.
Police say the teen had a gun on him when they picked him up. But his family is disputing the claim.
"To our knowledge he didn't have a weapon, he didn't have a weapon. Several other witnesses here state that he didn't' have a weapon," said Ishmel Rogucki's cousin, Jose Maldonado.
During the shootout, a 29-year-old man was also grazed in the neck, a 21-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 24-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. They ran from the scene.
Two of them were later found by police after being involved in a car crash near West 16th Street and Surf Avenue. The third man was discovered walking near West 35th Street and Mermaid Avenue.
Ishmel Rogucki was not involved in that accident.
