The New York City subway map is getting an overhaul.
Next month, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is set to unveil a new, simplified version of the iconic guide.
In the new version, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx will all become a bit larger, while Staten Island shrinks.
It’s part of an effort to clarify the map, which became overcrowded with added information in the decade since it's last redesign.
Colors will be tweaked to improve contrast and the service guide at the bottom will be eliminated altogether.
A stripped-down version of the new map will be displayed inside subway cars.
