Police are searching for a suspect in connection with the stabbing of three people in East Harlem this morning.

Investigators say a man slashed a 26-year-old man and 48-year-old man as they were walking near the 125th Street subway station around five o'clock this morning. They say the suspect then stabbed a 27-year-old man at 120th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Investigators say the attacker escaped into nearby Marcus Garvey Park.

"This is a major hub, and there's great people that live in the community here, that shop over here, and sometimes they do feel threatened by what goes on on this corner," said one local resident.

"I feel like it's unsafe, like people just go around stabbing people for no reason," said another.

Police only have a vague description of the suspect. He is said to be in his 20s and was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

The New York City Police Department is interviewing a witness for more information.

Two of the victims were taken to Harlem Hospital; one is in serious condition. The third victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in stable condition.
