The National Park Service is allowing visitors on Liberty Island for dinner dates at dusk for eight Thursdays starting June 3rd.
The idea was tested on a Friday night in September.
Statue Cruises plans to charge $35 for adults and $15 for children for a ferry ride from Battery Park to Liberty Island. But the National Park Service says a final ticket price has not been worked out.
The fee includes the cost of dinner at concession stands, but visitors are free to bring their own food. No alcohol is permitted.
Those who bring their own food but it must fit through airport-style X-ray machines.
Visitors will not be allowed to go inside the statue, and attendance will be limited to 1,200 people per evening.
