The legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem unveiled a list of legends all its own Monday with its new Walk of Fame.

Seven artists were inducted as part of the inaugural class: Quincy Jones, Patti LaBelle, Smokey Robinson, James Brown, Little Richard, Ella Fitzgerald and Gladys Knight and the Pips. All are already in the Apollo's Hall of Fame.

"I just think it's exciting to be able to actually walk in the theater, walk on the stage and then walk out under the marquee and actually see the plaques that designate some of the performers that are known to have been on this stage," said Apollo Theater President Jonelle Procope. "It's sort of like getting a tactile experience if you will; people like to rub things, people like to take pictures, so it's just one more thing that makes the Apollo an exciting place to visit."

Two new members will be inducted every spring from here on out, starting next month with Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin.
