Central Park hot dog and pretzel vendors are getting some healthy competition.
The Parks Department says that starting next month, the city will allow produce carts with fresh fruits and vegetables to set up around the park.
The produce will come from the Hunts Point Market in the Bronx, as part of the Green Cart Campaign, which is designed to promote healthier eating citywide.
Three carts are expected to roll out in April -- one on West 110th Street near Lenox Avenue, and two on Fifth Avenue near 80th and 86th Street.
More locations will be added later this spring.
