The sights of Old Havana are alive in the Bronx.

"The Orchid Show: Cuba in Flower'' opened to the public Thursday at the New York Botanical Garden.

Thousands of brilliantly colored orchids are on display, alongside replicas of some Havana iconic sites.

Some people who spoke to NY1 at the exhibit said it's a great way to get ready for spring.

"It's been such a long depressing winter, it's a great way to cheer yourself up," said one city resident.

"We kind of use the orchid show as our spring kick off because as you can see if you're looking outside with all the snow that's here right now it's a time of year where people are really sort of wanting that beautiful bit of color," said orchid show curator Marc Hachadourian.

The exhibit will be open through April 11th.
