The Bloomberg administration yesterday announced a program to assist New Yorkers find behind-the-scenes jobs in film and television.
"Law and Order" actor Anthony Anderson joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg to kick off the "Made in New York" Production and Crafts training program.
It's designed to help women, minorities and disadvantaged New Yorkers learn technical skills for entry-level jobs.
"We are proud to be part of this announcement of a new program that will give talented, disadvantaged New Yorkers a chance to cultivate their skills in this industry and find a job they love and are proud of,” Anderson said. “Working in New York is privilege for all of us in the entertainment industry."
"They are the backbone of any production and will provide satisfying and well-compensated careers in one of our city's major industries,” said the mayor.
