State investigators are looking into allegations that a 14-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by fellow patients and a staff member at the Bronx Children's Psychiatric Center.
According to a court notice, the boy was admitted in June to the state-run hospital where he was allegedly exposed to sexual abuse, sodomy, assault and violence.
The boy's family plans to file a $20 million lawsuit against the state.
A spokeswoman for the State Office of Mental Health says according to policy, allegations of criminal activity must be reported to law enforcement.
The boy was transferred to a different location.
