Authorities say officers answered a call of a man shot on 11th Street in Long Island City around 11:30 p.m. Friday

When officers arrived, they found Brooklyn resident Jaroslaw Bielawski, 62, shot once in his car.

Bielawski was pronounced dead at Cornell Medical Center

Police say two men approached the car, shot Bielawski and fled the scene in another car.

There were no passengers in the livery cab at the time and the driver did not seem to have been robbed, according to police.
