City commuters returned to work on slick sidewalks and slippery streets for the first morning commute since the weekend's snow storm.

Sanitation workers have been working around the clock since the first flakes started falling Saturday, and by now nearly all of the city's 6,000 miles of streets are clear.

City schools are open today, but alternate side parking regulations are suspended.

Garbage and recycling pickup is also suspended until at least tomorrow.

Post offices are also open.

Buses and subways are running normally.

Airports are still struggling to catch up, after more than 1,200 flights were canceled at New York's three major airports.

The Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North are running with delays.
