Brooklyn's Sunset Park Library invited kids and parents to a celebration Saturday for the 40th Anniversary of the beloved PBS children's show "Sesame Street."

Story time featured a celebrity volunteer reader, NY1's Jeanine Ramirez.

All 60 branches of the Brooklyn Public Library have "Sesame Street" books and videos.

The library acknowledges the educational value that lies in the adventures of Elmo, Rosita and Big Bird.

"Anything and everything that every single child ever do in their life has been going through one of these characters, and they can see that in the videos and the books and of course in the television program," said one library worker.

The special program also featured a screening of the DVD, "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland," and a raffle for a "Sesame Street" goodie bag.
