After receiving a missing persons report, officials found Troy Young, 29, in his basement apartment on Fourth Street in Carroll Gardens this morning with a gunshot wound to his head on Friday morning.

By Saturday, police said that Troy was shot in the left shoulder and that the bullet passed through his heart.

Young was the drummer in the Brooklyn band "Curious Mishap."

A neighbor said he was friendly and was surprised to hear of the violence.

"I see him every day,” said the neighbor. “He says hello, he's always happy, smiling, see him at deli, he has coffee, egg sandwiches. He always asks me, ‘how you doing on the project?’"

As of late Saturday, police had not made any arrests and the medical examiner was determining when Young died.
