Brooklyn Driver Charged With Striking Two Students

A Brooklyn driver was charged with vehicular assault Thursday after allegedly hitting two teenagers as they walked to school.
Black, 54, struck Elizabeth Lopez and Brian Rosario, both 17, with a green Ford Explorer at the intersection of West Avenue and Ocean Parkway in Brighton Beach just before 9 a.m., according to police.
Black, who stayed on the scene, also was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
Lopez was taken to Kings County Hospital with serious head injuries.
Rosario was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
