The Administration for Children's Services is investigating after an infant was found dead inside a Brooklyn home Monday night.

Police say they responded to a call of a baby having difficulty breathing at a home on Highland Boulevard in Cypress Hills around 8:30 p.m.

They say by the time they got there, the 11-month-old boy was already taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sources tell NY1 the child's name is Major Gonzalez. They also say he was found with a bruise on his forehead.

He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sources also say the parents are being questioned by investigators.

"They're a very wonderful family and all that. I see them coming once in awhile, just picking up their kids and just spending quality family time with them," said next door neighbor David Aruz.

The Medical Examiner says further testing is needed to determine a cause of death.
