An attorney for one of the September 11th terror suspects says the men plan on pleading not guilty when their high profile trial begins in Lower Manhattan.

Attorney Scott Fenstermaker says his client, Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, and the others will not deny their role in the attacks, but rather explain why they plotted and pulled off the attacks.

Fenstermaker says the suspects will tell the jury their political views and their assessment of American foreign policy.

Earlier this month, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the suspects would be tried in a federal court that's located a few blocks away from the World Trade Center site.

Critics argue such a trial will be a magnet for those looking to spread a hateful, fundamentalist ideology.
