As travelers prepare to travel during the holiday season, the Department of Consumer Affairs says nearly all of the luggage scales at the city's two major airports are accurately calibrated.

Inspectors checked all 741 scales at John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports and found 92 percent in compliance.

And after the airlines fixed the faulty scales, re-inspections showed 98 percent were accurate.

The remaining faulty scales are not being used until they are repaired.
