Jury selection in the corruption trial of former New York Police Department Commissioner Bernard Kerik will begin in two weeks.

The U.S. Attorney's office says Kerik's trial will start on November 9 with jury selection.

It was originally intended to start today.

Kerik has been in jail since last Tuesday when a judge ordered him behind bars for improperly sharing pre-trial information.

A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday to appeal that ruling.

The city's former top policeman is charged with accepting renovations to his Bronx home in exchange for promoting a construction company for city contracts.

That company was also under investigation for links to organized crime figures.

Kerik has pleaded not guilty.
