The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine went to the birds, and camels, and tortoises yesterday at the annual Blessing of the Animals celebration.
For the first time in years, the Parade of Animals traveled the entire length of the 900-foot-long historic cathedral.
The 26-year tradition is inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi, and his love for animals and nature.
