Family and friends of a 12-year-old Brooklyn girl who was critically injured in a hit and run over the weekend are calling on the driver to turn himself in.
Destiny Camacho's family held a prayer vigil Monday outside Brookdale Hospital.
She was hit by a van Saturday in East New York.
Camacho is suffering from inflammation of the brain and several broken bones.
"She's bad, really bad. You need to turn yourself. You need to turn yourself in," said Destiny's mother, Ruth Ramos.
"My daughter is gonna be good I know it. I got a lot of faith. I believe in God. And she's a fighter like I'm a fighter," said Destiny's father, Rene Camacho.
Police say the driver was in a white van, but have no other information.
"Don't be the coward you have already shown yourself to be. Step up and take responsibility for what you've done," said Brooklyn community activist Tony Herbert. "You made a mistake, then correct your mistake by turning yourself in."
Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
