Arrangements are being made to recover the body of Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney's husband who died after climbing a mountain in the Himalayas.
Clifton Maloney, 71, a former vice president at Goldman Sachs who later ran a private investment firm, died Friday afternoon.
Maloney's office says he was resting in a high-altitude camp after climbing to the peak of the world's sixth-highest mountain in Tibet when he died.
One of the Congresswoman's staffers says his last words were "I am the happiest man in the world. I just climbed a beautiful mountain."
Congresswoman Maloney represents the East Side, Astoria, Roosevelt Island and much of Long Island City.
The Maloneys have two daughters.
