Police have made two arrests in the shooting that
killed a young mother who was caught in the crossfire.
Joseph Diaz, 25, is facing second-degree murder charges. Robert Vargas, 16, is facing criminally-negligent homicide and felony assault charges
Police have yet to identify a third male involved in the shooting.
According to police, Diaz and Vargas were arguing with a third man Tuesday on East 146th Street in Mott Haven when the fight escalated and shots were fired.
Aisha Santiago, 25, was caught in the crossfire, shot once in the chest after pushing her nine-year-old son out of harm's way.
A 25-year-old man was also shot in the leg.
