City Councilman John Liu received the backing of a former rival in his bid to become city comptroller Tuesday.
NY1 will air two LIVE one-hour Democratic primary runoff debates this week.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m., public advocate candidates Mark Green and Bill de Blasio will square off.
City comptroller candidates John Liu and David Yassky will face off at 7 p.m. Thursday.
City Councilman David Weprin, who came in last in the primary for comptroller, said his endorsement of Liu was an easy decision.
"We have very tough fiscal times now," said Weprin. "The city is really hurting, these are very tough, volatile economic times. And I feel confident that with John Liu at the helm as comptroller, as chief financial officer, New York City will be in very good shape."
A runoff election between Liu and fellow Councilman David Yassky is set for September 29.
Last week, Yassky picked up the support of City Councilwoman Melinda Katz, who finished third in the primary.
