In the Democratic runoff race for public advocate, Bill de Blasio has picked up the endorsement of the woman he hopes to replace.
Betsy Gotbaum threw her support behind de Blasio Thursday.
Gotbaum has been the City's public advocate since 2002.
De Blasio will face former Public Advocate Mark Green in a runoff on September 29th.
On Wednesday, the two candidates will square off in a debate moderated by NY1 political anchor Dominic Carter. NY1 will carry the debate live beginning at 7 p.m.
