Community leaders held a rally Sunday afternoon in to increase awareness about a serial rapist in Upper Manhattan.

They're telling residents to remain vigilant until the suspect is caught.

Assemblyman Keith Wright is proposing $100,000 in state funds be made available for increased street lighting in the neighborhood. The lawmaker also added $1,000 to the reward money, bringing it to a total of $13,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

"This community will not rest until this person is arrested, indicted, convicted, and incarcerated," said Assemblyman Keith Wright. "There is no way this person can think he can terrorize women in our Harlem community."

"This is a guy who is preying on people in the neighborhood, so the more we can get out there and talk about this -- stop people from walking around looking down with their iPods, tap someone on the shoulder and say look up, open your eyes," said Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.

Investigators say the man has sexually assaulted and raped and robbed four women since August 1st.

In some of the cases he followed them into a building.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, about 5' 5" tall and weighing around 150 pounds.
