City's Oldest Dog Turns 20
A special birthday celebration was held in Midtown Manhattan today for what is believed to be the oldest dog in New York City.
A dachshund named Paco Sosa, seen left, turned 20 last Saturday.
Bernadine Santistevan, who has owned Paco since he was a puppy, credits her pet's long life to a combination of exercise and diet.
"He eats mostly organic food like organic turkey, chicken, fish. He takes a lot of holistic remedies, different vitamins, and so forth, along with the holistic treatments that he gets," said Santistevan.
"Paco's great. He definitely keeps us on our toes every time he comes in, he sleeps here some days and others. He's great to work with," said Renee Shumway of Animal Medical Center.
Paco's favorite hobbies are eating and walking around Central Park.
