The medical examiner said Monday that the bones found Sunday in plastic bags and a suitcase on a Brooklyn sidewalk belonged to an unidentified male.
Three plastic bags containing skeletal remains of various body parts were found along Walworth Street in Clinton Hill. Two of the bags had been stuffed into suitcases.
Workers from across the street think the body parts were probably dumped there sometime Saturday.
"It's terrible. Especially right here, why would it happen right here? This is unbelievable," said one local worker. "I mean when I saw this I was shocked myself, especially right here on a quiet block, especially a Jewish neighborhood and all that. Why did it have to happen right here?"
"It's a quiet neighborhood. There are people just walking and passing by," said another. We've never seen that before."
The medical examiner will continue to investigate the remains.
