A Brooklyn woman is in critical condition after being hit Tuesday afternoon by an SUV that jumped the sidewalk.
It happened at the corner of Utica Avenue and Foster Avenue in Farragut.
Police say Victor Vargas, 48, was driving a Ford Expedition northbound on Utica Avenue and as he attempted to turn onto Foster he hit another car.
The Ford then jumped the sidewalk and hit the 76-year-old woman.
She was taken to Kings County Hospital.
Authorities are questioning Vargas who was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and disobeying a red light.
