The world famous Rockettes kicked off the 2009 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Tuesday with a performance on 6th Avenue.
The Rockettes were joined by Santa Claus and another famous kicker, Lawrence Tynes of the New York Giants, who says he sees a lot of similarities in what they do.
"There's a lot of teamwork just like football. I think everyone has to be on the same page in order for everything to work. The same thing with a football play," Tynes said. "You know when I kick a field goal, if there's not 11 guys working as one group, then it's not going to work, so the same thing with these ladies."
"It's a tradition here in New York to come to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. We're thrilled to be together. It's like a sisterhood, you know, we bond, we dance on the stage, the greatest stage in the world," said Radio City Rockette Kristin Altfather.
Tickets are now on sale for this year's shows, which run from November 13th through December 30th.
