A 10-year-old boy was recovering Saturday after being struck by a stray bullet in the Bronx.

Police say the boy's father had sent him and a friend to pick up food at a Chinese restaurant on Monroe Avenue in Mount Hope around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

The boys were in front of the restaurant when a car pulled up and someone started shooting at a group of people standing outside the restaurant.

One of the bullets hit the boy in the foot.

As of Saturday evening, police were still searching for the shooter.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
