A new, multi-million dollar clocktower condo hit the market this week as realtors across Brooklyn prepare for what could be a real estate comeback. NY1's Jeanine Ramirez filed the following report.

The clocks not only tell the time, they also offer spectacular views inside a DUMBO triplex penthouse that was just put up for sale this week, listed at $25 million.

"The market is soft but it's a one of a kind space. Somebody will come and love it," said DUMBO developer David Walentas.

Walentas designed the space he dubbed the Clocktower. It's a 7,000 square foot loft-style apartment with top of the line amenities, including a glass walled private elevator that travels the three stories. It's also high-tech with central controls for just about everything.

"You can control the windows that are panelized on one of the walls to open and close," said Asher Abehsera of Two Trees Management Company. "And they're sensored so that if it rains, they'll close automatically."

The Clocktower is located at One Main Street, otherwise known as the first residential building to be developed in DUMBO.

It was one of the many buildings Walentas bought in DUMBO 30 years ago. He says he waited to create the space because it was such a big job and the tower's crowning jewel. He replaced the entire roof to build the loft's year-round roof deck.

Despite the amazing views at every turn, Walentas says he and his wife passed on the apartment.

"We live below it, actually. We have 3,000 feet right below it. It's frankly too grand," Walentas said.

In the current recession, one may wonder if there is a market for such grandeur. The owners over at Madison Estates, however, are banking on just that. They're expanding their real estate business with a new office in Cobble Hill.

The company, which is based in the Madison/Marine Park area of Brooklyn, says while things were really slow at the end of 2008 and over the winter months, things have picked up.

"People going back and saying OK, historically low interest rates, prices that been decreased, it's a good time to buy," said Madison Estates President Gerard Longo.

Walentas is hoping it's a good time to sell, even a home with a $25 million price tag. And if possible buyers are worried about having to reset the clocks, not to worry. They're all synchronized and adjust automatically to daylight savings time.
