Police are searching for a man they say exposed himself last week to a woman on board a subway train.

Police say the victim took a picture of the suspect with her cell phone camera.

Investigators say the man boarded a northbound Number 3 train Friday at the 42nd Street station. He sat right across from the woman and began touching himself. He left the train at 96th Street.

The woman says she went to the 32nd Precinct to report the incident, but was told by a uniformed officer that it was not a police matter and to call 311.

Police say the Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating that claim.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
